Birds of Himalayas ( Saat Taal)

In Feb,2010 we visited Saat Taal ( near Nainital) in the state of Uttarkhand. I spent a bit of time watching and photographing birds.

The most common bird with a beautiful sound are the thrushes. The Blue whistling thrush and the white crested thrush.

The fly catchers and warblers are commonly found.

In and around the lakes you will find the lapwig and the beautiful red billed blue magpie.

Near the meadows you could see the white crested laughing thrush, the black jay, treepie, Hoopoe and the red start.

The other common birds usually seen are the parakeets, tits, russet sparrow, warblers and a wide variety of bulbuls.

In 2 days we could not have seen more birds than what we saw at Saat Taal. It is definitely a bird watcher's must visit destination
